Review: Celine’s Fish and Chips

Since I was out exploring Vancouver’s Granville Island today, my growling stomach led me to Celine’s Fish and Chips. I tried looking for Go Fish Emporium but could not find it. It turns out it’s a bit of a walk from Granville Island, and when you’re hungry, you just can’t wait that long! So I settled for the Calamari & Chips just because I’m obsessed with calamari. I should’ve rethought the decision however…

There was a substantial pile of fries and calamari with a side of tartar sauce, and it definitely made me full. However, when you’re hungry, you’ll eat anything. Even if it’s tasteless and especially if it’s deep fried. The fact that I expected this place to be mediocre at best was one of the only reasons I was not disappointed.

Verdict: I really did not expect much from this place considering it was in Granville Island’s Public Market – aka food court. It was basically a bunch of deep fried things piled onto my plate. It was filling and relatively inexpensive. But if I’m going to be paying $10 for my meal anyway, might as well get something a little bit more worthwhile.

Food Rating: 1.5/3
