Scoop! is a cute little frozen yogurt place on West 4th in Kitsilano. Frozen yogurt seems to be the new thing these days. The chain restaurants Menchies, Qoola and Pinkberry have popped up all over Metro Vancouver and Vancouverites can’t seem to get enough of it.
What makes Scoop! different is not only that they are an independent frozen yogurt eatery, but also that they have their own atmosphere and environment. Walk into Scoop! and you’ll see a foosball table in the back corner, and several games stacked on the sides. They have everything from Jenga knock-offs, to Guess Who, checkers, Scrabble, and a ton more!
I feel bad that there’s only ever one person working at a time, especially because every time I go here it’s at least with five other friends. We like to take advantage of the foosball table here
Food Rating: 2/3 – A lot fewer options than most other frozen yogurt places. Good sizing, friends have told me the pricing and portion size is comparable. The ‘blended’ flavours on their menu are often just okay – it never tastes like the two flavours get fully blended! Maybe just stick to the original flavour and stack up on chocolate chips, fudge, or a brownie (they’re only a dollar each – so worth it!) I felt like the frozen yogurt here was good, but not spectacular. However, I may just not be a fan of frozen yogurt…
Overall Rating: 4/5
Verdict: I will probably keep coming back here whenever I’m in the area – however, not specifically for their frozen yogurt. The idea of games and fun times with friends is what makes my nights here so enjoyable and worthwhile.
